Gateway Signs Local Ice Cream Shop

Inside Scoop, a popular local ice cream shop, has signed a deal to open a branch of its popular franchise as part of the pedestrian "Main Street" section of the Shops at Quonset Point. The new store will occupy 1,000 square feet of space, and will include outdoor seating for warm-weather months. The shop will be located inside an open-air center that is anchored by Kohl's and local grocery store Dave's Marketplace, and also contains room for other shops and second-story office and meeting space.

Inside Scoop has an existing location in Wickford Junction, North Kingstown, where its ice cream is made fresh every day. The Gateway will be its second location in North Kingstown and will remain open year-round. "Where layoffs are taking place all over the state, Quonset is bringing in jobs, and that means a captive audience for me," said Inside Scoop owner John Bucci. The New England style of architecture for Inside Scoop's building recently received design review approval from the Quonset Development Corporation (QDC).
