Quonset achieves major milestone

JOBS
Quonset recently passed the 14,000 job milestone, with the addition of new manufacturing, green energy and port jobs, among other sectors. Only 14 months after celebrating its 13,000th job, the Business Park is now home to 14,379 jobs at 239 companies.

“This key milestone wouldn’t be possible without the support of all our many partners in government and the business community,” said Steven J. King, P.E., QDC’s managing director. “This milestone reflects our commitment to creating and sustaining an environment that encourages job creation across Rhode Island and throughout the region.”

The continued investment in world-class infrastructure at Quonset has paid dividends, attracting new businesses to the state, creating new jobs and expanding the state’s role in the Blue Economy. At the same time, new construction at Quonset’s Gateway Offices and Flex Industrial Campus offers continued opportunities for Rhode Island’s small and new businesses.

“The continued expansion and modernization of the Port of Davisville also positions Quonset to continue our auto import success while expanding our support for wind energy projects,” King added. “But these latest job numbers are only a preview of even bigger things to come.”
