Gov. Dan McKee highlighted the investments Rhode Island has made in Quonset’s success, including at the Port of Davisville, in his recent State of the State address. As one of the Top 10 auto importers in North America, the Port of Davisville imports more than 200,000 cars each year and supports more than 1,600 local jobs overall.

In his FY2025 budget, Gov. McKee is proposing a ‘Green Bond’ to direct $20 million to the Port of Davisville to make capital improvements to the World War II-era infrastructure. These upgrades will position the Port to serve as a hub for current and future offshore wind projects while ensuring that the Port remains a world-class auto importer.
