The Port of Davisville located within the Quonset Business Park is Rhode Island’s premiere public port. With over $100 million in investments recently completed, the Port has modernized and expanded its port infrastructure to be a leader in offshore wind support.
Strategically located near the mouth of Narragansett Bay, The Port of Davisville offers five terminals with 4,500 feet of berthing space and 235 acres of operating capacity. The Port is one of the top 10 automobile importers in the U.S.

Port Services and Specifications
NORAD Inc., a privately owned company located at the Port of Davisville, is one of the largest auto importers in North America. Serving as a port of entry processing center and distribution hub for imported and domestic vehicles, NORAD has had a total throughput of over 5 million vehicles.

With the addition of the 150MT mobile harbor crane, the Port of Davisville can handle a wide range of project cargoes and break bulk materials, including wind turbines and heavy equipment.
Seafreeze, Ltd., located at the Port of Davisville, is the largest producer of sea-frozen fish on the U.S. East Coast. They offer public cold storage and can load and unload reefer vessels (trampers), refrigerated containers, refrigerated railcars, and trucks.
The Port’s convenient proximity to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) offshore wind lease areas offers easy access for crews and services supporting the wind industry.
Pier 1 at the Port of Davisville is a steel pile supported pier with concrete deck and live load rating of 1,000 PSF. The dredge depth at Pier 1 is -32 MLLW with a deck elevation of +12.0 QVD, and a curb elevation of +13.5 QVD.
The marine guard foam filled fenders are placed 40’ on-center, with 100 MT mooring bollards.
Pier 2 has a Shibata Fender Team Supercone rubber fender system placed at 40-feet on center, with UHMWPE panels to accommodate a variety of uses. The panels extend from the deck surface down to Mean Low Water, allowing use at all tide cycles, with 100 MT mooring bollards.
The Earthen Pier 2 has a live load rating of 1,000 PSF. Additionally, there are pile supported heavy lift platforms on each berthing face rated to 2,000 PSF.
The dredge depth at Pier 1 is -32 MLLW with a deck elevation of +12.0 QVD, and a curb elevation of +13.5 QVD.
Water service is available at the South Berth.
Good Things on the Horizon
With over $100 million in investments recently completed, the Port of Davisville has modernized and expanded its port infrastructure.
The two upgraded multi-use piers can simultaneously support growth in the finished automobile industry, the operational needs of the offshore wind industry, marine transportation needs, and the aquaculture sector.
In conjunction with the Port of Davisville Master Plan, an additional $100 million in funding is approved for continual upgrades to the port.
