Quonset’s wastewater treatment efforts recognized by industry leaders

Untitled ( x in)

Quonset’s wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) treats about 800,000 gallons of industrial wastewater per day, removing contaminants and delivering clean, safe water back to Narragansett Bay. Our WWTF staff works hard to keep the plant running efficiently and effectively, and their efforts have been recognized once again.

Last month, the Rhode Island Clean Water Association awarded the Quonset Wastewater Treatment Facility their Silver Award for consistent permit compliance throughout 2024, a reflection of consistently excellent work from the entire wastewater team. Eric Benson, a lab technician who has been at Quonset for over 20 years, also received the Laboratory Analysis Award for outstanding contributions in achieving laboratory analysis.

These awards are well-deserved and speak to Quonset’s steadfast commitment to protecting our local environment. Congratulations and great work to our award-winning wastewater team!
