Quonset Managing Director Steven J. King, P.E. and QDC’s senior leadership team recently attended back-to-back topping off ceremonies to celebrate the final steel beams being raised at Electric Boat’s latest high-bay manufacturing space and the Rhode Island Air National Guard’s new headquarters facility.

Electric Boat’s new construction is expanding the manufacturing facility for the U.S. Navy’s Columbia-class ballistic missile submarines, designed to replace Ohio-class ships and scheduled to enter service in the early 2030s.

The RIANG new 43,000 square-foot headquarters will feature dining and medical facilities, a recruiting office and the ability to function as a 24/7 command center in the event of an emergency.
